Kanye is still dope

as much as kanye has done some things lately that i don't necessarily agree with (the frollet, autotune) and has shied away from the things he is really amazing at (rapping, super dope beatmaking), when he is on his game, he is on his game. i was reminiscing about some beats and such and remembered the scene in fade to black where 'ye is playing beats for jay. kanye plays this one beat that jay-z doesnt use (see below), but is absolutely disgusting (with a sample from "funky worm" by the ohio players which is a killer song in its own right). if you watch the video it is clearly from a "different time". jay-z's clothes are still relatively over sized, and kanye's outfit (while bright orange) is very toned down from his recent high fashion self. part of me wishes kanye would get back to this more humbled, "hip-hop friendly" version of himself because at this point in his career he was having fun. he was doing his thing and making dope beats. i dont want kanye to go backwards as an artist (besides the autotune) but i want him to get back to just doin him. get back to the samples and the ill drums! last thing he did that was even relatively close to that was "let the beat build" which was bananas. what happened? where did the beats go? why did you stop making them? but, in the end, what im really wondering is, where are you yeezy?

new lupe?!?

so, idk how heavily this has been circulated around the internet among non-lupe heads, but fanatics like myself hard heard this about a thousand million times and i thought id share. this is apparently one of lu's new tracks off his next album "lasers". he has been performing the chorus of this song "Shining Down" at all his shows recently. it sounds like it is going to be off the chains! im really excited and everyone else should be too. enjoy.

it's something about spring...

i'm not really sure what it is about spring time, but every year around now i fall in love with corinne bailey rae all over again. her music is very genuine and just all around good. last i heard of her though was when her husband passed last year, and i cant even imagine how hard that must be to deal with by itself with let alone record music while that is going on. my heart goes out to her.

i havent really been following this whole g-unit/50 cent vs rick ross beef cause i feel like its a waste of time. first because its stupid, second because in my opinion rick ross would kill 50 on any track, any day. but i heard on the radio that someone from g-unit called rick ross and offered him some money to end it because i guess 50 is getting smashed. hear the story from the man himself, rick ross

Where are you Yeezy?

so even tho i may not agree with everything that kanye is doing of late, id just like to say, i really want a pair of his shoes. the air yeezy's are ill and even tho they'll never replace my babies as my favorite (high top nike dunk) they'll a very close second (or third... to dunk lows). i'll be getting my own pair ASAP. i NEED the black ones to drop tho
