How could you be so heartless?

"I don't even listen to rap. My apartment is too nice to listen to rap in. I have to be in a way more grimey environment to turn any rap music on"-Kanye West

i have been in Kanye's corner since day one, man. The College Dropout is one of my top five albums of all time (along with Graduation), and Late Registration easily makes the top ten, but lately he just hasn't been getting it done for me. i understand that you are trying something new on this album, but you aren't doing it the best you can. your lyrics are still easy to relate to, but i miss the clever wordplay. and i know you are growing as an artist, but how could you disrespect what made you? you responded in your blog by saying, "IF I'M IN THE CRIB CHILLING AFTER RAPPING ON STAGE EVERY DAY OF MY LIFE... NO I'M NOT TURNING ON NO RAP MUSIC." but that still doesn't make any sense. if you loved it like you said you do, then you would listen to rap whenever. how could you diss rap like this if you tried to hard for so long to prove to everyone that you were a rapper? you really messin up kanye. you always talkin bout your swag, and trying to make songs people will love and tryin to get wayne and jeezy on your tracks cause they are the hottest right now, and that just aint right. i remember the 'ye that made beats he thought were hot and wasnt worried about nobody else. yo kanye go back and watch fade to black, and look at the scene with you and Jay listening to "Lucifer" and "Last Call" in the studio. you thought that was hot cause you thought it was hot, and not for anything else. check your ingredients...
